Q: Who is behind this program?

A: The primary sponsor of this program is North American ESL School (NAESL) www.naesl.com in Chengdu, China. Back to 10 years ago, if a student wanted to learn English from a native speaker teacher, he/she probably must go to an ESL school to get the opportunity. However, over the years time is changing, more and more institutions, high schools or even pre-schools in China add English programs where the native speaker teachers are provided to enhance the quality of teaching. However, many of these new employers are not familiar with the procedures and documents regarding hiring foreign teachers, or they may not have the human resource to handle these cases. Therefore, more and more employers turn to NAESL for help, forming a "franchise-style" system under the umbrella of NAESL. Consequently, we have many openings year around for students from English speaking countries who wish to do internship/ co-op in China.

On the other hand, New Era Education Investment Co. (NEEI) based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, was designated by NAESL to serve as the North American Office of this program. NEEI is in charge of program promotion, identifying qualified applicants, consulting and processing application document. It will also help student interns on other issues such as visa, legal, travel...etc.

Q: How long time does it need to get the invitation letter after I have paid the $100 application fee ?

A: It will take about 4 weeks to get the invitation letter.

Q: I want to visit Beijing and Shanghai, is it possible to be arranged if I choose to work in Chengdu?

A: This is not a problem, during the school break, you can travel to other cities.
